Auction Highlights 2025

Whitefriars hit the headlines not once but twice during the year with two rare non catalogued Banjo colourways coming to auction. Firstly an ultra rare Ruby Red banjo selling at Piers Motley in Devon's April sale  and hitting an auction record for a banjo of £17200 hammer plus commission. then much later in the year a one off Yellow banjo was sold at Gorringes for £10,000 plus commission at their December sale. Who knows what rare delights will appear in 2026?

Moorcroft went from some very low lows to some very interesting highs in 2025 basically  it went bust and then William Moorcroft's grandson bought the company and started trading again. Prices at auction for Moorcroft pieces were generally disappointing with a  subdued market but a few very rare and popular pieces arrived at auction and managed to set some records. Firstly two very early Carp vases came up at Woolley & Wallis in June and made £31,500 and £25,200 respectively a then in October at Fieldings design sale a Carp vase made £15,600 plus commission.

Clarice Cliff. The best auction house for Clarice Cliff run by Will Farmer, from the Antiques Roadshow, is Fieldings auctioneers in Stourbridge. Two sales a year with around 300 pieces in each. 2025 did not disappoint. March 2025 highlight was a rare Blue W YoYo making £5,900 hammer and in October a Grotesque face mask £4,600 and a Tennis 369 vase at £8,200

Lyon and Turnbull auctioneers held two Lalique only sales with pieces making up to £52k in May and two pieces making over £80k in October

Interesting auctions coming up in 2026

Fieldings auctioneers have 2 Clarice cliff specialist sales a year March and October.

Woolley & Wallis have design sales on the same months as Fieldings

Lyon & Turnbull have 2 Lalique only sales in May and October

New Stock & my Website

I try and add new stock each month and if you have checked out my website I cover a variety of antiques, mainly specialising in Whitefriars textured range, Moorcroft, Lalique and Clarice cliff. I have a big interest in Ephemera and have various catalogues of  pottery manufacturers, Lalique, Whitefriars etc plus I now have some of the original drawings and boards for the Whitefriars vases and their stained glass drawings. In my other influential designers section I have some Poppy Platters designed by Peter Layton; wedgwood pieces; Goldscheider; Royal worcester etc.
