Welcome

Welcome and happy June everyone. We are back to a monthly newsletter for this month and after 5 months of the year just seemingly vanishing let's hope for some interesting items appearing either privately or at auction to tempt us all.

Faulkner and Booth Hungerford

The shop is ticking along  but it's not  really had a big surge of people in the buying mood as yet. More people out and about and visiting the shop and there have been some very nice comments on the stock and the layout.

Up and coming auctions

There was a very interesting mention, in the Antique Trade Gazette, of a large Moorcroft Moonlit blue vase measing 38cm tall to come up at Tennants auctioneers on the 13th June, estimated at between £3000 and £5000. It is signed W Moorcroft British Empire Exhibition. Tennants have other Moorcroft lots as well as Whitefriars and Lalique

Fieldings auctioneers have a few pieces of Whitefriars and Clarice Cliff in June auction

Mallams auctioneers have Whitefriars, Lalique and Moorcroft coming up in June.

This is just to give you a flavour of the various auctions around the Country selling our favoured wares.

Whitefriars Fake vases

 I had previously set this  up at the bottom of my Whitefriars section of my website. Now I have managed to find a Fake DBL that will be added to that section soon and some additional photos showing the real vases and the the fakes side by side. The main vases that seemed to of been faked or copied in style are the small Drunken Bricklayer; hooped vase; onion vase and the TV vase. Once completed I will have 3 out of the four on my site with just one to come.
